How Hot Tub Helpline works in St. Louis
We're a video service, not a local shop, and we don't have an office in St. Louis. You book a call, point your phone at the topside, the filter and (with the power off) the equipment bay, and a real hot tub tech guides you by voice. Many problems can be diagnosed, and often fixed, in one call. If yours needs hands-on work, we'll help you find a local pro.
Flat prices, shown before you book: Quick Fix $49 · Full Diagnostic $89 · Priority Fix $139.
Outage or a tripped GFCI?
When your hot tub goes dark in St. Louis, first work out whether it's the spa or the grid. If the neighbors and streetlights are out too, it's an outage: report it to your utility (links above). If everyone else has power, check the spa's GFCI and your breaker panel. SRP, Arizona's big utility, puts it simply: if your breakers are tripped or your neighbors have power, the problem is likely inside your property. A GFCI that won't reset is a job for a licensed electrician (see GFCI keeps tripping).
When the power comes back, check the topside for messages. Many utilities, SRP among them, suggest turning off appliances during an outage so there's no surge when power is restored.
Hot summers, cold snaps: hot tubs in St. Louis
St. Louis gets both kinds of trouble. In a cold snap, freeze protection (pumps running on their own when sensors detect freezing temperatures, per Balboa) only works while the spa has power, so a winter outage deserves quick attention. In summer, long filter cycles plus hot afternoons can push water temperature up; Balboa's "water too hot" message trips at 110°F and points to extended pump operation or high outdoor temperatures.

St. Louis hot tub not working? Start here
- Hot tub not heating: Jets run but the water stays cold. Usually it's flow, not the heater.
- GFCI keeps tripping: The spa shuts off and the GFCI won't stay on. Treat it as a safety signal.
- Weak jets or pump not working: Weak, surging or no jets: water level, filters and air first.
- Airlock after a refill: Just drained and refilled, and now no jets or no heat? Prime the pumps.
- Winterizing and freeze protection: Keep it running, or drain and winterize it properly. No car antifreeze, ever.
- Balboa error codes: HFL, LF, dr, OHH, OHS, sensor and GFCI messages, from Balboa's own guides.
- Gecko error codes: FLO, HL, OH, Prr, AOH and UPL, from Gecko's troubleshooting guide.
- Need a replacement part? Send us your model and the old part's label, and a tech matches the exact part.
- Need someone on site? Tell us your ZIP code and we'll help you find a local pro.

Who do I contact when the power goes out in St. Louis?
Your electric utility. In St. Louis that's usually Ameren Missouri. Use the outage page on its website (linked on this page) or the number on your bill. If only your hot tub is off and your neighbors have power, check the spa's GFCI and your breaker instead.
